HP6
I’ve had a love-hate relationship with the Harry Potter movies. It’s probably because I’m such a huge fan of the books and more often than not, prefer a book over it’s movie counterpart. For me HP5 was a disaster, but I really did enjoy The Half Blood Prince. The ending was a bit of a disappointment, but overall I liked the actors as usual and the movie did a good job pulling me in with its breathtaking scenery and various weather effects. Not sure what is, but I love movies with rain and snow…something the HP movies (and books) have in abundance.
Looking forward to the final movie(s).
Books of ‘08

I thought it would be fun to sit down and make list of all the books I read in 2008. It really wasn’t a great year for me reading-wise…just didn’t seem to have enough time. But at least the list is longer than I thought it would be. It also appears to represent the revival of a genre for me – the spy/anti-terrorist/political thriller. I’ve always enjoyed them but had mostly been reading sci-fi and fantasy. Here’s the list:
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
- Dragon Bones by Patricia Briggs
- Steal the Dragon by Patricia Briggs
- Relic by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (re-read)
- The Lost World by Michael Crichton (re-read)
- Extreme Measures by Vince Flynn
- Takedown by Brad Thor
- Blowback by Brad Thor
- The Avenger by Frederick Forsyth
- Blasphemy by Douglas Preston
- The Judas Strain by James Rollins
- Company Man by Joseph Finder
- Rain Fall by Barry Eisler
- Hard Rain by Barry Eisler
- Killing Rain by Barry Eisler
